I seem to recall one teen slasher film with a setting similar to this -- everyone's stuck on an island where they're supposed to be enjoying their vacation, and then they're murdered one after another. Was it "Scream 2" or "I Know What You Did Last Summer 2"? I just can't remember, but then they all suck anyway so who cares? Point is, Desert Island Story X is kind of like that, except that instead of turning up dead, each girl gets raped and defiled turn by turn.

I can't get over how stupid Toko and her friends are. It was pretty clear from the start just who was on who's side, but being the stereotypical brainless Hentai bimbos that they are, they just don't get it until it's too late. Oh they try to escape, run, and hide, but given how devoid of brain cells everyone is, it's all in vain. As you can expect, every single girl gets what's coming -- anything from gang-rapes, body piercing, sodomy, bondage, etc... which is actually the whole point of this series. I was fast-forwarding through the repetitive rape scenes just so I could officially finish watching, even if I could already tell how it was all going to end. Instead of feeling sorry for everyone, I was like... whatever.

Despite the simplicity of the story, Desert Island Story X suffers from multiple plot holes. No background or clear motive is given with regards to the hijackers. You don't even know where the big bag of money they had stashed in the yacht came from. Everything and everyone is just there to make life miserable for Toko and her friends, all of whom are leggy and voluptuous young ladies.

The art and animation are somewhat above average at best. Character designs are satisfactory albeit not really all that special, and everyone had reasonably portrayed bodily proportions. Sex scenes were surprisingly not as detailed as I had anticipated, and I actually don't remember seeing any of the lower genital areas. Most of what's shown are breasts. Penetration scenes are there but all you see are hips swaying and butts pumping. The English dubbing is okay, I guess. At least I don't remember getting pissed off by any of the voices.

Desert Island Story X is altogether idiotic, forgettable, and redundant. More or less the same thing happens over and over that it gets stale all too quickly. I couldn't wait for it to finish so I could just get it over with. I can't even recommend it to perverts because it's not graphic enough. With so little going for it I suggest you just save your time, effort, and money for something else.
