Review
G-Taste is a collection of erotic vignettes, each of which is
focused on a specific girl. Of the three episodes, only the first is
independent. The other two are related, taking place in the same
setting and featuring the same cast of characters.
The first feature, Moe Yagisawa, is really more of a detailed
demonstration of how to get dressed and undressed. Majority of the
screening time is devoted to showing us Moe's daily routine in
detail -- how she showers, puts on her office clothes, applies
make-up... you get the idea. After that, we discover that Moe is
actually addicted to rubbing her crotch against various everyday
things, anywhere from table edges to steel railings. The second
feature, Nana Morimura, is the usual story of a young, innocent girl
getting work as a maid and getting trained for sexual slavery. Nana
works under a woman named Mai Kannazuki, who is the subject of the
third feature. Mai is the assigned superior of the maids in the
mansion, and she's the one in charge of their training. They put on
a live sex show every year for their rich and prominent guests, and
it looks like Mai's going to be an active participant in this year's
show.
What these three episodes have in common is that there is no man
involved in all of the sex scenes. Moe is all about masturbation,
while Nana and Mai do it with other women exclusively -- and they
are all fully equipped with the necessary sexual gear in order to
satisfy each other. G-Taste tries to be artistic in terms of
presentation, with slow and deliberate scenes that seem to thrive on
every inch of the anatomy and every ounce of movement that occurs. I
guess there is some merit in that, but overall I found that it just
caused the pace to drag. I have to give plus points to G-Taste for
uniqueness though.
Art and animation-wise, I have no complaints about G-Taste.
Character designs are exceptional. I found all the girls to be
extremely pretty, albeit there were some inconsistencies on how they
were drawn. The sex scenes weren't very graphic since none of the
lower genital areas were really shown. Sexual activities include
masturbation, a bit of bestiality, and the use of various kinky
paraphernalia (gag balls, strap-on dildos, and the like).
G-Taste is admittedly a Hentai title of a different flavor. It takes
one basic character and wrings out everything it can from there on,
resulting in sluggish paper-thin voyeuristic pieces. It may be worth
your while if you fancy girl-to-girl (Yuri) action, but if not, it's
probably best to move on to more scintillating titles.
