Synopsis :
Again, four episodes comprise this
collection:
The First Night "Illusion" - Like most young women her
age, Youri has a boyfriend. The problem is, she can't
seem to make herself go all the way with him. Rumor has
it that her boyfriend is frequenting a massage parlor
because of a masseuse who looks just like Youri...
The Second Night "Excessive Love" - Megumi is a pretty
young nurse who lives alone. Unknown to her, an
obssessed man is watching her every move with a
telescope from the building across... and he's
determined to possess Megumi at all costs.
The Third Night "The Shadow Card" - A man who's addicted
to playing cards orders some special cards to help him
win in the upcoming tournament. But his new cards are
magical, and the girls on the cards come to life to
fulfill his sexual fantasies.
The Fourth Night "Drowning in a Summer" - A stepmother
seduces her young stepson, unleashing his uncontrollable
innermost desires.

Review
Inmu 2 is
the sequel to Inmu. Like its predecessor, Inmu 2 is a collection of
strange Hentai short stories which are Twilight Zone-ish in
nature... although quite far from being anywhere as good as any
Twilight Zone episode. Porn star Asia Carrera reprises her role as
the masked woman who "guides" us through each episode, reminding us
to "look at our backs" once again.
With the exception of the third night, I disliked all the episodes
of Inmu 2. The first episode went by like a blur. There were two
Youri's and one guy... and then that was that. I didn't really
understand what happened in the end. The second episode was
downright infuriating, showcasing what could be one of the most
disgusting de-virginizing rape scenes ever. There was so much blood
and semen that it seemed as if the room was flooded with them. I
also didn't get how the obsessed man managed to conduct astral
travel and "teleport" in and out of Megumi's room, even going
through her underwear drawer. The third episode, "The Shadow Card",
was the most entertaining of the bunch. The card-playing man uses
his magical cards for all they are worth, and when he finally puts
out the final ace from his sleeve, he gets the surprise of his life.
I'm not going to describe it any more as not to ruin Inmu 2's one
and only saving grace. The last episode "Drowning in a Summer" tries
to emulate a classic silent film style in the beginning, showing
flashes of white text against a black background in place of
dialogue. Apparently, the stepmother wants some hot young blood to
liven up her day... but the tables are turned when her stepson
becomes uncontrollable, oversexed, and abusive. But the step
mom-stepson sex scenes are actually flashbacks, and I have no idea
what the present situation is because of the f*cked-up storytelling.
I had high hopes for Inmu 2 since I thought Inmu had a lot of
unrealized potential. Sad to say, Inmu 2 is extremely disappointing.
With the exception of the third episode "The Shadow Card",
everything had the same vague storytelling style which didn't elicit
any sort of wonderment from me... just discontentment. Inmu 2 makes
the first Inmu seem like a freaking masterpiece. Inmu had some great
plot ideas but somewhat lame endings. Inmu 2 has some lame plot
ideas and lame endings. At least the masked woman spouts markedly
less lyrical quotes this time around.
The art and animation are somewhat above average. Different groups
of animators worked on each episode but overall I found the
character designs to be quite nice. If there's one thing Inmu 2
improves on it's definitely the visuals. Sex is depicted explicitly,
more so compared to the first Inmu. Inmu 2 shows absolutely all the
anatomical parts complete with their matching secretions in great
detail. The English dubbing is generally okay. As is the case with
the previous Inmu Asia Carrera does a passable job as the guide.
Since she has a lot less to say this time, her tendency to murmur
didn't bother me as much. The other porn stars (Kobe Tai, Brittany
Andrews, Alexa Rae, and Jacklyn Lick) sounded about right for the
parts they were playing as well.
All in all, Inmu 2 had a nice concept going. It's just too bad there
wasn't enough creativity to pull it off.
