Review
Iron
Virgin Jun is yet another eccentric feature from the notorious Go
Nagai ("Devilman", "Kama Sutra")... which practically guarantees a
weird time for everyone concerned.
Jun Asuka is a young woman who belongs to the prestigious Asuka
(obviously!) family. She is the sole heiress to everything the
family has, and tradition dictates that she be married at the tender
age of 18. Thus, Jun's mother throws a lavish party for Jun's 18th
birthday, with only the wealthiest people as guests. This is so that
she can pick a suitable husband for Jun. Jun runs away, with her
mother's henchmen hot on her trail. The problem is, Jun's mother is
offering 100 million yen to whoever can bring her back. To top it
off, her mother believes that her virginity is the reason why she
doesn't want to marry -- so part of her mother's orders include
having Jun raped. If that's not bizarre, I don't know what is.
The art and animation are somewhat below par. Character designs are
either peculiar or overly plain. Jun's mother looks like a macho man
in drag; Jun has the face of an ordinary girl, but she's built like
a muscleman; Jun's mother's henchmen are the usual sleazy bunch,
except that their penises are uh, not normal to say the least. Jun's
faithful servant Kuratta, Jun's father, and Jun's aunt are probably
the most normal-looking characters in this title. Despite the Hentai
classification however, there is no nudity (not even bare boobs!).
The most you'll see are the henchmen's animal-themed penises, some
torn clothes, and attempted rape scenes that don't really go
anywhere. If this were a Hollywood movie it would probably get an R
rating. Surprisingly, seiyuu Chisa Yokoyama (Sakura in "Sakura
Wars", Sasami in "Tenchi Muyo") plays the role of the main character
Jun.
While Iron Virgin Jun has a pretty okay plot, it's hard to get over
the extremely dated-looking and dully rendered visuals. Unless
you're a die-hard Go Nagai fan, I suggest you save just save up for
something more worthwhile.
