Review
Two
words: monster rape. That about sums up the whole of Magic Woman M.
Meruru's adventures begin one sunny day, when she rescues a young
warrior girl named Luna (at least I think it's Luna). The two
quickly set off for the village, only to find bloody and dismembered
corpses strewn about. All the women have disappeared to boot. It
turns out that the ogre that's been causing trouble is not just fond
of killing people, but raping young ladies as well. Soon Meruru
finds herself in a compromising situation... which is pretty much
how this anime goes. It's all about Meruru's sexual misadventures,
and not much else. I marvel at how our heroine (and whoever she's
with at the time) always manages to get raped by a variety of
strange creatures.
Two episodes make up Magic Woman M, and both seem like nothing more
than a bunch of rape scenes put together. It's redundant, tiring,
and not to mention offensive. Meruru is an inept sorceress whose
spells are delayed to the point that it's always only after she's
raped and brutalized that they actually start working. Every time
Meruru is about to be or is being violated, a wizard's face (her
mentor) appears onscreen and makes side comments like "Oh, Meruru
has to learn about patience!". It's so idiotic that it's not even
the slightest bit funny.
The visuals are nothing special. The character designs are cutesy
when it comes to the girls, and weird when it comes to everybody
else -- since majority of them aren't even human. After seeing
Meruru's innocent and fresh-faced demeanor in the first few scenes,
I never would have imagined that she'd get subjected to some of
lewdest sexual acts ever. The animation is rather choppy, giving the
impression that Magic Woman M isn't exactly a high-budget
production. Sex (as well as carnage) is depicted VERY explicitly. To
give you an idea, in the first episode alone you'll witness the
bloody show of little Meruru (she is a petite girl) losing her
virginity to a humongous ogre with an organ the size of a flagpole.
No normal human intercourse or consensual sex ever occurs in this
anime. It's all monsters with unbelievably huge members or
tentacles, all the time. Some of the scenes are just plain
ridiculous, while others are downright gross. On a more positive
note, the English dubbing is passable, especially when compared to
other Hentai dubs.
Like I said in the beginning of this review, two words: monster
rape. That's all there is to it.
