When I saw the first few scenes of Queen and Slave, I thought I was in for something different. A girl was actually taking charge and dishing out the nastiness instead of the other way around. But halfway through it, I discovered that I thought wrong. It's just another typical Hentai title with the usual "rape her till she enjoys herself" kind of action.

Yoshimi Terada hates men. She relishes punishing them during her stints as an S&M Queen. Enter Hiroyuki, an innocuous young man who makes the unfortunate choice of falling in love with Yoshimi. Hiroyuki stalks her till he finds out about her other job, and pays for her time accordingly. Hiroyuki just wants to talk and get to know Yoshimi the old-fashioned way. Being the man-hater that she is, Yoshimi scornfully rejects and mocks Hiroyuki... which in turn spurs Hiroyuki to teach her a lesson. How? The usual way, of course, namely hiring a group of thugs to rape and humiliate Yoshimi. But Hiroyuki's revenge doesn't exactly produce the effect he wanted...

The art and animation are a little bit above average at best. Character designs had potential, but Yoshimi herself was drawn unsatisfactorily -- and majority of the screening time is devoted to her. I had this urge to clip that lock of hair across her face and there were a lot of telltale lines on her cheeks, all of which made her look untidy. Sex is depicted very lengthily and graphically. They really take time out to show you each and every lurid detail of the various acts performed, which are comprised of mostly hardcore stuff like S&M, bondage, and rape. The sex scenes just seemed to go on forever, and I eventually found that focusing endlessly on the guy's penis going in and out gets boring fast. The English dubbing is passable I guess, I just remember being irritated with some of the male voices.

While Queen and Slave's brief moments of role reversal proved to be amusing, I reiterate, it's just more of the usual thing.
